Monkeys and the Fruit Fly
So what gives a group life? Why is it that some companies flourish while others fail? What really determines staying power and competitive ability in an environment that provides equal challenge and equal opportunity to all? Read on…
I find it kind of ironic that Charles Darwin gets as much emotional attention today as he did when he first wrote “Origin of the Species” – maybe even more! Ya Win Some…
Ya win some, ya loose some.. We all know that maxim. In fact, I’m sure many of us have invoked it from time to time. But I’d like to suggest that far from being comforting, it is in fact meaningless - or should be to us. Read on..
The concept of win some, loose some is too “Karmaish” for my taste. Somehow, it suggests that there is a win-loose balance. As if victory or defeat just happens and can’t be affected, influenced or changed.
It seems to me that just the opposite is true. And what makes it even truer in my book is while winning can never be guaranteed, I will bet you that loosing can!

It is ironic, in a sense, that we are a business that is in part based on history. In fact, without a historical context as a base, we don’t have much to go on. My guess is that there is an axiom here someplace - a truism that affects way more than our RM needs.
How is it that so many disasters - natural or otherwise - seem to be unforeseen? That is until the post-facto commission reports that it really was anticipated, but that the inability to share information, budget cuts or partisan-parochial issues kept most people in the dark and unprepared.
