Are there absolutes?

Are there absolutes? You know certain truths that don’t change no matter where you are; who you are; or what you are.

  • Absolutes do not exist. For something to be absolute, it has to be absolutely accepted - and nothing is. Even the most basic human rights aren't accepted by everyone (I don't think I need to provide examples, just read a newspaper).   • While I think putting something as "the right to the pursuit of happiness" into the constitution at the time it was written might have been quite a novel thing to do, I find it equally surprising that the founding fathers have left it so vague. It seems totally unclear what the "right to pursue happiness" actually guarantess the individual. So ...
