I am a big fan of checklists – following them lets you to free your brain from the question "What do I do next?" and allows you to dedicate more mental capacity to using your intuition, passion, and creativity.

Just this weekend my roommate was poking fun at me for having a checklist on my night side table with the first item “1) wake up” – I can understand his point, but let the record show that I’ve never once left my keys at home and I have some of my best thoughts in the early morning.

Not sure I want a passionate virtuoso as a surgeon. I'm imagining a knee surgeon playing my MCL like a Cello. Maybe? I don't know - I feel like some things need a checklist and some things need that passionate virtuosity.
